The Molteni Group is among the leading Italian industrial groups in the furniture industry. Molteni Mobili's activities began in the 1930s with a craft company, Molteni, which from the 1950s began to develop, choosing to mechanize for industrial-type production. In the 1970s, Molteni differentiated into three companies, depending on the size it had reached and to better meet market needs. Today the Molteni group is one of the few with an integral cycle: in fact, Molteni has total control of production, from the choice of materials to the final definition of the furniture. The three companies (Molteni & C, Unifor and Dada) develop a wide synergy in terms of technology, research, exploration of new typologies adapted to the changes taking place in the home and workplaces.
The Molteni Group has always collaborated with top designers such as Pier Luigi Cerri, Michele De Lucchi, Rodolfo Dordoni, Foster & Partners, Ferruccio Laviani, Luca Meda, Jean Nouvel, Pagani and Perversi, Bruno Reichlin, Aldo Rossi, Afra and Tobia Scarpa, Gerard Van den Berg, Hannes Wettstein, Patricia Urquiola, and Paola Navone.
Molteni & C is a company of advanced technology and ancient tradition. Since the 1970s, it has defined its identity along two lines. First, it has implemented continuous research in the area of modular furniture, elaborating with the design of Luca Meda a series of solutions suitable for all rooms in the home, from the wardrobe to the living room area or the study/home office. Its modular units such as the Molteni 505, the Molteni 7volte7 or the Molteni Pass, to give a few examples, are projects in constant evolution, both from a technical-constructive point of view and in a functional and comfort sense. They have met with great success, and Molteni is considered a leader in this field.
In addition, especially since the 1980s, Molteni has proposed a wide collection of individual furniture capable of articulating a home of understated elegance with modulars. From the typologies linked to a collective memory of living, characteristic of Aldo Rossi's design, we came with the 1990s to furniture such as those designed by Jean Nouvel where essentiality blends with an advanced technological content, a field of research that has always characterized the company.

Molteni & C's choice, in fact, was twofold. On the one hand, to maintain sophisticated craftsmanship in-house, in the know-how of materials, care of finishes, and customization of products.
On the other hand, technological research is the ground on which the Molteni company has always developed its research, in the continuous experimentation of innovative solutions.
Molteni furniture thus incorporates the wisdom of a long tradition of craftsmanship along with an innovative technological quality that is profoundly useful to the user but by no means ostentatious.
