From the client's specific desire for a single, large, bright open space, the project was pivotal in breaking down the wall between the kitchen and living room and introducing a fireplace.

This necessarily entailed not only the rethinking of the electrical and plumbing systems (in function, among other things, of a kitchen that was no longer wall-mounted but island-mounted), but also the introduction of an appropriate suspended ceiling that would serve the function of a trait d'union between the entrance, the kitchen area, and the living room.
